What a clearance certificate confirms
Form 19 is issued by the registered debt counsellor when the legal clearance requirements have been met. It confirms that the relevant obligations under the repayment plan have been satisfied.
The evidence normally required
- Updated statements for every credit agreement in the plan.
- Paid-up letters from credit providers where applicable.
- Payment-distribution records that reconcile to creditor balances.
- Confirmation that any continuing home-loan obligation meets the legal requirements.
What happens after Form 19
The clearance information is submitted through the prescribed process and credit bureaus update their records. Keep copies of Form 19, paid-up letters and confirmation correspondence permanently.
If your original counsellor is unresponsive
Gather your court order, payment statements, credit-provider balances and all correspondence. A registered professional can explain the lawful options, but cannot manufacture clearance where the requirements have not been met.
